I Will Be Judging the 2020 DMA Awards!
For the last forty years the DMA Awards have been one of the most prestigious and most sought after marketing awards in the UK and I am really excited to be selected to judge the 2020 DMA Awards. Over the last seventeen years, I have probably judged twelve different times and had the honour to chair a category five or six times. Whether as a chair or a panelist it is always a big thrill to be asked.
First, these are the awards that everybody wants to win, so being chosen to judge ones peers is a big responsibility. Secondly, the DMA has done a brilliant job of expanding the pool of judging applicants from top brands. They have also partnered with Creative Equals, Culture Partners and Outvertising to drive greater diversity across the juries to better represent the audiences of each campaign. When you look at this year’s list of judges, you will see why being selected puts you in quite an esteemed circle. I never let that level of competition put people off and encourage anybody who will listen to apply to be a judge which brings me to the biggest reason it is great to be selected as a judge. Your judging day will be one of the best days out of the office you will have all year. It is absolutely brilliant to be able to get under the bonnet on the best work in our industry.
Every year I come away invigorated and buzzing with new ideas and new possibilities. Judging starts in a couple of weeks and I cannot wait.
